Laura M. Woodruff

Laura M. Woodruff attended Earlham College, where she majored in Classical Studies, and then attended the Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi, from where she graduated in 2006. In 2015, Laura earned an LLM in Health Law from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she presented her thesis on the Constitutionality of and parentage issues in surrogacy agreements.  

Laura was admitted to practice in Mississippi in 2006 and Ohio in 2008, and she is admitted to the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.  Laura has practiced as both a private attorney and worked for the Montgomery County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. During her time as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Laura was assigned to the Appellate Division, the Child Protection Unit, and the Criminal Division, where she was a felony trial attorney. 

On August 1, 2016, Laura joined the experienced attorneys at Falke & Dunphy, LLC as an associate attorney.  There she continues to provide quality representation to clients.

Throughout her career, Laura has successfully represented clients in numerous courts in Southwest Ohio, including municipal courts, domestic relations, juvenile, probate and common pleas courts of Montgomery, Miami, Greene, Hamilton, Preble and Clinton counties, and the Second District Court of Appeals.  

Since becoming a licensed attorney, Laura has always been interested in and enjoyed practicing juvenile law.  Laura has extensive experience with abuse, dependency and neglect cases brought by Children's Services agencies, juvenile delinquency cases involving misdemeanors and felonies, custody cases, and contempt cases.  She takes the time to explain how the legal process works and what the client's options are.  Laura has also taken the Ohio Supreme Court's Guardian ad Litem Certification Course, and serves as a court-appointed GAL in delinquency and abuse, dependency and neglect cases, and private custody matters in Montgomery County Juvenile Court.  

Laura is committed to providing competent, personal representation to clients, and represents Intended Parents, Gestational Surrogates, and Donors in Assisted Reproductive Matters regardless of background.  She dedicates herself to keeping up with the changes and trends in the law with Assisted Reproductive Technology, Probate and Estate Planning, Contract Law, Equine Law, Landlord-Tenant, Juvenile/Family and other key topics.
